What Can You Use to Help Your Sinuses and Allergies Naturally?

I strongly believe that a lot of natural remedies are a lot safer than Dr. medication. So what can you do to help your sinuses and allergies naturally? I have suffered from allergies for about 7 years now and I have to tell you, my allergies can be very bad. I have tried the medication, but nothing worked until I started to implement some other natural remedies into my life.

First what I did was I got a warm mist humidifier. This has totally changed the air I breathe and it was so much easier on my headaches. Some people think these things do not work, let me tell you they do! When it comes to what kind of humidifier cool mist of warm mist, I personally go with warm mist, just because it helps me more with my sinuses. Cold air makes it worse.

There were a lot of sprays I tried over the years for my sinuses, but all of them have made me feel sick, so I have switched to natural sprays, which is sinus buster formula. These can literally perform a miracle for your sinuses.

What I personally love about natural remedies is that there are no side affects. And the natural remedies I tried actually work a lot better than the Dr. prescribed medication. At least for me they have, but I know a lot of people share this same experience.

Since I suffered from a lot of sinus infections, I had to use a lot of antibiotics and they have weekend my immune system. So in order to improve the overall health it is good to find ways to boost immune system. I use the emergency C Booster formula, and I have tried the new Mangosteen 100% juice. I loved it.

Cool Mist Humidifiers – The Best Dry Skin Treatment

Do you wake up with dry skin on your face during the winter months? You probably think the cold’s responsible. But the culprit could be low humidity in your home.

This dry air causes you skin to dry out. Your skin may crack and peel and your your wrinkles can become more prominent. To make things worse, you probably find your lips cracking, too.

All in all, a very unpleasant state of things.

The trouble is that dry air sucks moisture out of your skin so the best solution is to control the level of humidity in the air.

Ideally, the level of relative humidity in your home should be around 35% to 45% but using heaters can cause this to plunge to single figures with disastrous consequences for your skin.

Fortunately remedying this situation is easy. You just need to use a cool mist humidifier to boost the humidity level in your home. Your skin then absorbs the moisture throughout the day and night making it soft and smooth.

Cool mist humidifiers are simple devices which work by transforming water into fine droplets and blasting it out into the air. This vapor then raises the humidity in your home.

Humidifiers are inexpensive devices and they’re cheap and easy to run. You just need to fill the tank with water, switch it on, and let it do its work. Better humidifiers are self regulating and shut off when the water level gets low.

Other than moisturising your skin and lips, a cool air humidifier can also relieve cold and congested sinuses. It can even help keep your house plants from wilting.

If you want to look your best during the winter months, invest in a cool mist humidifier. It will bring the freshness back to your skin and lower winter infections at the same time.

Tips on Picking the Right Humidifier

During the winter heating months in colder climates your home will need extra moisture. A humidifier replaces moisture that is lost from heating your home. The proper humidity is essential for your maximum comfort. Not enough humidity can cause itchy dry skin, stuffy noses, static build up, frizzy hair and a chilly feeling. The proper humidity is a personal thing. It is best to start around 60% and adjust up or down until you find the best comfort level for your needs.

So, what kind of humidifier are you going to buy? There are several things you need to know first before purchasing a unit. How much space are you adding moisture to? If you want to do your whole house and have hot air heat, I recommend having a whole house humidifier installed by a heating contractor. This type will connect to your water line and automatically add moisture to the heated air within your furnace.

If you only need to moisturize a few rooms or you do not have hot air heat, then a stand alone unit is required. There are 4 types available: evaporative, ultrasonic, steam, and cool mist. Here is what each type is good for.

Evaporative:

This is the type I prefer. Several gallons of water are stored in a tank in the unit. Water is pumped through a wicking material (should be anti-bacterial coated) and a fan quietly blows through the wet wicking material evaporating the water and adding humidity to the air. This type uses the least amount of electricity and provides 1-2 days before needing a tank refill. Larger console units of this type can allow you to go more days between refills. There is also a UV light option on some units that kills airborne viruses or bacteria that pass through.

Ultrasonic:

Ultrasonic units use sound vibrations to add moisture to the air. The draw back of this type of humidifier is that it leaves a white dust on every surface in your home. The white dust is minerals naturally occurring in your water. It is a real pain to clean up. If you want to prevent the dust you can buy distilled water which is inconvenient and expensive. I do not recommend this type of unit.

Steam:

Heater type units literally boil water into steam. They cost the most to run. No white dust is left behind because steam is pure water. A build-up of minerals are left behind on the heating element. These minerals can cause popping noises and inefficient operation. Removing the mineral deposits can be done by soaking the heater part in white vinegar weekly.

Cool Mist(impeller):

This is the type I remember my mom putting in my room when I had a cold. They are the least expensive units. They work by spinning the water into tiny droplets and blowing them into the air. For a few days use they are ok. Excess water can build up around the unit from unevaporated droplets so do not place it on wooden furniture.

I remember having to change a few wet socks from this extra water on the floor.

Overall the best type for long-term use is the evaporative wicking type. They cost the least to operate and do not leave white mineral dust everywhere, and only need attention every few days for water refills.

Effective natural pneumonia treatment recommended by almost European doctors is the self-administered oxygen therapy. The claim is so simple, microbes, harmful bacteria, and viruses such as pneumonia, cancer heart disease and even aids, do not cause the disease by themselves. They just thrive and spread in their natural habitat the oxygen – depleted body. The moment our body is depleted of oxygen it becomes acidic and normally all kinds of viruses and harmful bacteria thrive and reproduce exponentially. The body with enough supply of oxygen is uninhabitable by all kinds of diseases and viruses. Therefore, the recommended first line of defense is to keep the body always oxygenated. Take the time to explore and study this effective and controversial therapy

Ballroom Dancing – Slow Fox Trot

There are several different theories on the source of this ballroom dance’s name. The most often told story is that the dance was made popular by a new man named Harry Fox who was a vaudeville comedian with the Ziegfeld Follies. Another story says that the dance is so named as a consequence of the similarity to an equestrian gait that was dubbed the Foxtrot by the military. It is a gait where unlike a typical trot where the front left and rear right (or front right and rear left) legs are moved simultaneously causing a somewhat jerky motion, the Foxtrot has the animal moving each leg one at a period making for a smooth trot that’s easier on the animal and the rider. This trot actually led to the increase in a breed of horse called the Missouri Fox Trotter. Still a third suggestion is that the dance (in its earlier version) resembled the way a fox walks (with one foot before the other leaving a lone track).

In the early fox trot the feet were placed in a lone line one before the other. It wasn’t until the 1950’s that this ballroom dance was revised to have two different dance lines, one for each foot. Around 1922 the jerking, trotting steps of the dance were interchanged for a more relaxed movement called a Saunter. By 1927 the jumpiness was gone and the steps were smooth and gliding and the dance was now remarked as a Slow Foxtrot.

This ballroom dance is made from strolling steps and side steps. When on a crowded dance floor like in a night club short steps are used. For ballroom dancing long, smooth, easy gliding steps combine to give the Fox Trot its unhurried visual aspect.

The Fox Trot is danced with identical type of hold that’s made use of in the common waltz, with a compounding of long slow steps and short lively ones. The timing of this ballroom dance is of great importance. The slower steps are carried out on the heels while the quick steps are done on the toes.

The Fox Trot can be danced to most any music no matter whether it is slow or fast. In the 1920’s the Fox Trot was embraced by America’s youth. They loved this ballroom dance, which set off as a bouncy trot-like step that had been incorporated into the vaudeville act of Harry Fox. The Fox Trot has in a very short space of time become one of the most loved ballroom dances up to date. It is in addition one of the hardest to learn.

There is also what is called a U.S. citizen Smooth style of Fox Trot that differs in as much as the hold can be broken throughout the performance so you will see more open movements and underarm turns.

Ballroom dancing has undergone many changes and one of the most significant developments was the employment of the quick and slow steps of the Fox Trot allowing the dancers more variety than the earlier one and two step dances.

Confused? Find Out the Difference Between Warm and Cool Mist Humidifiers

Are you confused about choosing between a warm air and cool mist humidifiers? There are actually only a few differences between the two, but your choice should depend on your own preferences and what has been recommended by your physician.

I for one find that cool mist humidifiers help make me breathe easier compared to warm mist humidifiers. I’ve had asthma since I was a kid, and cool mist humidifiers have always helped me with my breathing especially when I need to stay in my room.

However, there are some people who are more comfortable with a warm mist humidifier. In the first place, these are generally used in a colder room. The warm mist sprayed comes from boiling the water that’s put into a reservoir. Warm mist humidifiers can also be used for steaming medications and make the room more cozy and warm. Warm mist humidifiers are generally quieter than cool mist humidifiers but they also require more frequent cleaning. This is due to the fact that it uses warm water, which attracts more bacteria buildup.

Cool air humidifiers generally make more sound, but there are pricier ones in the market which have the silent feature. They’re usually the portable ones that are especially placed in bedrooms. They also vary in sizes and features. There are compact ones and ones that can humidify a whole house.

To know which kind of humidifier you should purchase, and to determine what specific features you’d like it to have, you should first find out whether or not you need to humidify your whole house and the area of the space you want covered. Take also into consideration that if you’re going to put a humidifier inside a bedroom, you should opt for the quieter ones so you can feel more comfortable sleeping. It’s also an important consideration that the humidifier you choose is also an air purifier so that you’ll have cleaner, healthier air to breathe.

Sesame Street Humidifier

Sesame Street Humidifier

My daughter loves anything sesame street, and this was no exception. When she was sick we plugged it in whichever room she was in, and kept it on while she played. It’s easy to carry – just make sure you hold it upright if theres water in it, because it will leak if you tip it even a little. Cleaning is easy. I use a bottle brush, bleach and soap to clean the unit, and bleach and water for the filter. The filter is very easy to rip though, so use care with that one. I ripped ours and we had to find a replacement filter (which ended up costing ).
